The Data Protection Act gives individuals the right to know what information is held about them. It provides a framework to ensure that personal information is handled properly. You can be sure that :
(1)information you offer or is requested by the LSP is fairly and lawfully processed in line with the Data Protection Act.
(2)data is processed for limited purposes to provide access to the services offered by LSP and to ensure that Equal Opportunities are being upheld.
(3)adequate, relevant and not excessive information is required by those enquiring or applying for LSP services
(4)accurate and up to date information is available about the school and students with access to personal files open to every individual concerned.
(5)information such as contact details are kept for marketing purposes no longer than is necessary and you may ask to be taken off the mailing list by sending a blank email to LSP with ERASE in the subject bar at any time. Student files are kept for a maximum of three years as a matter of necessity.
(6)Contact details are only processed in line with your request for information and no further.
(7)All details are secure and permission sought to share contact details with colleague/students
(8)Information will not be transferred to other countries without adequate protection
