Career Progression

On completing any part of the programme or the full Diploma students may progress with enhanced skills to professional work.

Past LSP and Puppetry Summer School students have successfully found work in companies such as: Compagnie Phillipe Genty, Faulty Optic, Little Angel Marionette Theatre, The Barge Theatre, No-Nonsense Theatre Company, Hitomi Puppet Theatre.(Japan) Students have gone on to form their own companies or continue to develop their company work: Unpacked, On Loan, Theatrum Elasticum, Thingy Theatre, Norwich Puppet Theatre, Lempen Puppet Theatre, Puca Puppets, Collaborators Theatre, Flotsam and Jetsam, Vivien Mousdell, sculptor and puppeteer. Students have become storytellers, film-makers and community artists.

Ex students have taken up positions in schools, hospitals and other institutions where the therapeutic benefits of puppetry to learning are being developed. Opportunities exist for promising students to take up contracts with WaxBaby Productions as a first professional step. Contracts have been taken up for festival work and for London seasons.
