Data protection
The Data Protection Act gives individuals the right to know what information is held about them. It provides a framework to ensure that personal information is handled properly. You can be sure that :
- information you offer or is requested by the LSP is fairly and lawfully processed in line with the Data Protection Act.
- data is processed for limited purposes to provide access to the services offered by LSP and to ensure that Equal Opportunities are being upheld.
- adequate, relevant and not excessive information is required by those enquiring or applying for LSP services
- accurate and up to date information is available about the school and students with access to personal files open to every individual concerned.
- information such as contact details are kept for marketing purposes no longer than is necessary and you may ask to be taken off the mailing list by sending a blank email to LSP with ERASE in the subject bar at any time. Student files are kept for a maximum of three years as a matter of necessity.
- Contact details are only processed in line with your request for information and no further.
- All details are secure and permission sought to share contact details with colleague/students
