Courses

    1. The London School of Puppetry offers six different ways of delivering training: The Professional Puppeteers Diploma - PPD (12-24 months)FastTrack
    2. Teacher Training of Puppeteers - ToP (12-24 months)
    3. Short Courses (ClipP and PAcE)
    4. The Diploma in Professional Puppetry-DiPP (36 months) Part-time SlowTrack
    5. 3 Day Mini Courses run from time to time in London only.
    6. Summer Schools usually run in Yorkshire.

The first three are flexible, are delivered in one month intensive blocks (with breaks) and designed to fit into the more complicated life-styles of freelancers so that work can be picked up again between Units of Study. There are five different start dates for the PPD.
Please look at student feedback and other info on the Home page to get a flavour of what goes on.
Each Unit of Study is completely different from the others but is emphatically looking at performance of new writing for puppetry. Part of each module is spent in London and the rest in Yorkshire.
(There is some cheap accommodation available in Yorkshire.)
Some students take Short Courses as a slow means of taking the PPD - paying as they go. But if you really want to save money, then it is worth planning a bit further ahead to study over a shorter time and have an end date in view. So go for the PPD Fast Track. It is 6 Units plus workplacement to be taken over 12-24 months NB. You plan your PPD Unit dates with LSP to fit in with your work and other committments and you have to take your planned Units consecutively.

We now have the DiPP Course which is the Diploma designed for those with steady work and family responsibilities who cannot be free for month long intensive study. This Course is based in London, runs on some Saturdays over a four month period twice a year, plus distance learning, occasional weekdays for audience/artist study and a one week period and one two week period during the 36 months of the course.
