Conflict of Interest

LSP expects members of the committee or Academic Board to behave in a professional and ethical manner, to disclose real or perceived conflicts of interest, and to exempt themselves from discussions or decisions related to real or perceived conflicts of interest. All decisions will be openly discussed and available for scrutiny and monitored by interested parties. The aim of to LSP is to be transparent in its dealings, and offers speedy solutions where conflicts of interest exist. This policy is intended to:

  1. maintain credibility in the London School of Puppetry and confidence in the decisions of the in the evaluation process, in assessments, in appeals.
  2. assure fairness and impartiality in decision-making.
  3. maintain impartially and avoid the appearance of impropriety.
  4. prior to any discussion or the onset of evaluation process- members of the Academic Board should:
    • disclose any conflicts of interest
    • re-appoint or co-opt members for discussions and decision-making if a member of the Academic Board, or external moderator or member of staff has been associated with complainants within the period of five years.
    • withdraw from any decision-making and be replaced by another co-opted member.
